Napoleon Hill is quoted as saying, “If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way.” Today many people are finding their days long and lonely; others are confined with relationships that are being strained to the tipping point; still others are consumed with the news – each report more gloomy than the last. Most of us cannot do anything particularly spectacular these days, we cannot change the course of the virus, cannot speed up the discovery of a cure or a vaccine, or even prevent it from spreading far and wide.
But that does not mean we cannot do anything. We can ‘phone someone who is alone. We can smile at passersby; we can pray for our country and its leaders; we can send a letter or card to someone who comes to mind. When we reach out to someone else we will ourselves take one step away from despair and begin to find hope in showing love to others.
And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you Ephesians chapter 4 verse 32.
