H M The Queen is 94 today. Captain Tom Moore, whose intrepid fundraising garden walks has inspired the nation, reaches 100 at the end of the month. We wish them and all others who celebrate birthdays today and soon, a very ‘Happy Birthday’.

‘Where has the time gone?’ we often ask, on such occasions. Another year has flown by.

The Bible asks each of us For what is your life? It is even a vapour that appears for a little time and then vanishes away … you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” James chapter 4 verses 14-15

If the Lord wills. Yes, the Lord God has a will and purpose and neither can be thwarted or changed. We should be humbled and thankful to realise that God our Saviour … will have all men (and women) to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, Who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time… I Timothy chapter 2 verses 4-6.  The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter chapter 3 verse 9.

The Lord wills. Do you?
