‘I OWE HIM MY LIFE!’

When the Prime Minister left hospital, having recovered from coronavirus, he paid tribute to the NHS staff. He said, ‘I owe them my life’. I should like to introduce you to the Person of whom I can say the same. I was ‘dead’, not physically, but spiritually. The Bible taught me that I was, ‘dead in trespasses and sins’, Ephesians chapter 2 verse 1. If God had abandoned me, I would be without hope. However, graciously, He sent the Lord Jesus, to be my Saviour. He is the only One to have lived here, who was not ‘dead in trespasses and sin’.

The Bible says, ‘the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord’, Romans chapter 6 verse 23. He took God’s judgement for our sin, through His death on the cross. He rose from the dead and is now in heaven, where I will be one day. I can look at Him, by faith, and say, ‘I owe Him my life!’
