Where is your “happy place”? Is it at home with your family, or in your garden? Maybe you have a favourite holiday spot or getaway, or even a book or movie where you can escape into another world.
Someone I know says her happy place is in the kitchen where she makes delicious meals and treats to give away. With holiday destinations cut off and even local travel curtailed, some of us may need to find a different happy place, one that is accessible at all times, in all weather conditions, and beyond all restrictions.
A writer from many centuries ago found just such a place. Here is how he describes it: You (God) will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fulness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16 verse 11.
It is in God’s presence that this writer finds fulness of joy. He does not have just a little bit of happiness, a moment here and there. Rather, he is filled full of joy. This happy place is one each of us may find. God in the Bible has shown us the path of life – life with eternal, not fading or passing, pleasures.
