The plea from front-line workers during the current pandemic has been, ‘Provide us with the right protective clothing to keep us safe.’ Shortages have put them at risk, and some have died. Have you ever considered how vulnerable you are, if you are not ‘clothed in God’s garments of salvation’?

A prophet in the Old Testament wrote, ‘I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with THE GARMENTS OF SALVATION, He has covered me with the robes of righteousness’, Isaiah chapter 65 verse 10. The same prophet also wrote, ‘But we are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags’, Isaiah chapter 64 verse 6. Our sin has separated us from God and made us unclean in His sight. No amount of effort on our part will protect us against the consequences of our sin – a lost eternity, without hope. However, God offers to clothe us in ‘the garments of His salvation’. ‘For God so loved the world that He gave us His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life’, John chapter 3 verse 16.
