Whatever the message, whether it is ‘Stay Safe’, Stay Alert’ or another prompt for us all to be cautious, we want to be safe, really safe don’t we?

The wise king Solomon, renowned for his many sayings still tells us after many centuries the secret of true safely:

“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe”

Proverbs chapter 18 verse 10.

“The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe”

Proverbs chapter 29 verse 25.

God’s provision of salvation through Jesus Christ is all we need for eternal safety, eternal security. Millions have proved it including Anna Waring who penned the words of a beautiful hymn:

In heavenly love abiding, no change my heart shall fear:
and safe is such confiding, for nothing changes here:
the storm may roar around me, my heart may low be laid;
my Father’s arms surround me, how can I be afraid?

Green pastures are before me, which yet I have not seen;
bright skies will shine with glory where threatening clouds have been:
my hope I cannot measure, my path to life is free;
my Saviour has my treasure, and He will walk with me.
