It is interesting how pithy statements often creep into our everyday language and assume an air of truth that they ought not to have. One such statement is, ‘It doesn’t matter what you BELIEVE as long as you are sincere’. Nothing could be further from the truth and to regard it as such is to court disaster. The Bible makes it clear that IT DOES MATTER

WHO AND WHAT WE BELIEVE! All shades of belief, however sincerely held, do not lead to God and a secure destiny. Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me’, John chapter 14 verse 6.

Peter, an apostle, said of the Lord Jesus, ‘Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved’, Acts chapter 4 verse12. Paul, another apostle, wrote, ‘For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all’, 1 Timothy chapter 2 verses 5-6. If you want salvation from sin and a secure eternity, IT DOES MATTER WHO AND WHAT YOU BELIEVE! ‘BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved’, Acts chapter 16 verse 31.
