Finding our way to places has never been easier. Increasingly sophisticated technology makes it easy to arrive at our desired destinations – it is difficult to get lost! Nevertheless, technological advances will never help us to find our way, spiritually. We are born lost and will remain so, unless we find the way back to God.

The Bible gives us some warnings as we set out on this journey:

‘There is A WAY that seems right to a man, but its end is the WAY of death’, Proverbs chapter 14 verse 12.

‘EVERY WAY of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the hearts’, Proverbs chapter 21 verse 2.

However, it does not leave us lost and in despair: it also gives us hope:

‘As for God, HIS WAY is perfect. The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him’, Psalm 18 verse 30 – all we need to know about the right way to go is found in the Bible.

God says, ‘I will instruct you and teach you in THE WAY you should go’, Psalm 32 verse 8 – only God can teach us the way to go.

‘The WAY OF LIFE winds upward for the wise, that he may turn from hell’, Proverbs chapter 15 verse 24 – God’s directions always point us upwards.

Thomas, one of the disciples, said to Jesus, ‘Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?’ Jesus replied, ‘I am THE WAY, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me’, John chapter 14 verse 6 – the right way to go, spiritually, is not found in technology but in a PERSON, Jesus Christ, who died for our sins.
