We can say so much and be so quick to speak but why is it we are so slow to say
Gracias, Merci, Grazie, Arigato, do jeh, daw-dyeh, Danke sehr, Khop Khun Mak Kha, Spasiba, gamsahabnida, Takk, Mahalo, Toda , Efharisto
Or Thank You?
- Are we so unaware of how thoughtful and kind people are to us?
- Do we believe we have a right to so much we receive?
- Or is that we are too proud to indicate that we are in another’s debt and say those precious two words ‘Thank You’?
When we were children, we were taught a simple ‘Thank You’ grace for our food: ‘For what we are about to receive, may the Lord make us truly thankful’. Whether you acknowledge God or not, do you never say ‘Thank You’ to those who prepare your food and give you so much in your life?
The Bible warns that there will be many in the world who are not ‘thankful’ Romans chapter 1 verse 21. Sadly, it comes from not acknowledging God.
Psalm 136
Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
for His mercy endures forever.
2 Oh, give thanks to the God of gods!
For His mercy endures forever.
3 Oh, give thanks to the Lord of lords!
For His mercy endures forever: …
26 Oh, give thanks to the God of heaven!
For His mercy endures forever.
Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift! 2 Corinthians chapter 9 verse 15.
Whether you are a Christian or not, please remember your ‘Thank Yous’!
