What Now?

Christmas has come and gone; the time long wanted with family and friends did not happen; the end of year climax never even got off the ground. For many, Christmas is a difficult time of year, with few family and friends, feeling the loss of loved ones, keenly aware of being alone. These are true and genuine feelings for so many today.

In all this darkness and despair, Christ still remains. Christmas has gone but Christ has not.

‘… good tidings of great joy which will be to all people … Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men’ Luke chapter 2 verses 10-14. And it is just that:

good tidings … great joy … toward men (to all of us) …

Christmas happens but once a year but Christ still remains. He has not changed: ‘Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever … For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”  So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. what can man do to me?”’ Hebrews chapter 13 verses 5-8.

You matter to God. Remember He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? … For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord’ Romans chapter 8 verse 32-39
