After all the trauma and sadness of 2020, is it too much to have some HOPE in 2021 or will we be doubly disappointed? With all their best intentions and designs, certainty of HOPE cannot be placed in our leaders or others because too many issues are beyond their control. The Christmas carol, ‘O little town of Bethlehem’, gives us the basis of true and lasting hope:

O little town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie,

above thy deep and dreamless sleep, the silent starts go by;

yet in thy dark streets shineth, the everlasting Light;

the HOPES and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight.

Why was HOPE to be be found in Bethlehem? Only because the everlasting Light, the Lord Jesus Christ, was there and in Him is every HOPE.

Christians at Ephesus were once reminded that they had ‘no HOPE and (were) without God in the world’ and that is true of all of us. But thank God, because of Bethlehem and the birth of the Light of the world, the Lord Jesus Christ, it could be added ‘But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ’ Ephesians chapter 2 verses 12-13. No HOPE, far off from God … ‘But now… brought near by the blood of Christ’. Christ is the answer and it is through His sacrifice at Calvary that peace with God can be known and a certain HOPE guaranteed.

‘ … the Lord Jesus Christ, our HOPE’ 1 Timothy chapter 1 verse 1.

‘ … in HOPE of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began’ Titus chapter 1 verse 2.

Yes you can DARE TO HOPE in 2021. You can have a certain, eternal HOPE through Christ the Lord. This is the purpose of Hope4Bath and it is our prayer this HOPE with be your HOPE.
