Every day we are faced with them, some are easy, some are difficult, some we leave for another day, or for someone else. Choices! We make choices automatically, sometimes naturally. It has been well said “You are free to make whatever choice you want, but you are not free from the consequences of the choice.” Anonymous
Faced with such decisions we sometimes seek advice, consider all the facts to guide us but at the end of the day, I, you, we have to make that choice. Some choices don’t matter, some have serious consequences, particularly choices relating to this life and the next.
When Moses, a Bible leader, was coming to the end of his life he was very open with his people and nation, ‘I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days …’
Deuteronomy chapter 30 verses 19-20. Some wisely listened to Moses and chose life, followed and obeyed his God; sadly, many did not make that choice.
Similarly, another Bible leader Joshua challenged his own people to make the right choice ‘And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve … as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord’ Joshua chapter 24 verse 15. Joshua’s choice was made, ‘we will serve the Lord’, and he did.
What will you choose? ‘Choose life’? Whom will you choose? Will you say ‘I will serve the Lord’? We do pray you will choose carefully and well as you ponder these eternal realities. Please let us know if we can answer any questions. We will gladly send you a Bible so you can read such things for yourself. We will pray for you. Come back again for another Message of Hope.
