THE BIBLE SPEAKS FOR ITSELF:
‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I BORE YOU ON EAGLES’ WINGS and brought you to Myself’, Exodus 19 verse 4.
‘Keep me as the apple of Your eye; Hide me under THE SHADOW OF YOUR WINGS’, Psalm 17 verse 8.
‘I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust IN THE SHELTER OF YOUR WINGS’, Psalm 61.4.
‘Because You have been my help, therefore IN THE SHADOW OF YOUR WINGS will I rejoice’, Psalm 63 verse 7,
‘He shall cover you with His feathers, and UNDER HIS WINGS you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler’, Psalm 91 verse 4.
Meditate on these words and they will bring you great strength, when facing difficult times.
The hymn writer William Cushing wrote:
UNDER HIS WINGS, oh, what precious enjoyment! There will I hide till life’s trials are o’er;
Sheltered, protected, no evil can harm me. Resting in Jesus, I’m safe evermore
(Refrain)
UNDER HIS WINGS, UNDER HIS WINGS, Who from His love can sever?
UNDER HIS WINGS my soul shall abide, safely abide forever.
UNDER HIS WINGS, what a refuge in sorrow! How the heart yearningly turns to His rest.
Often when earth has no balm for my healing, there I find comfort, and there I am blessed.
May each one of us be conscious today that it is possible to face whatever life has in store for us, under the shadow of GOD’S WINGS. He wants to be our Rock and Refuge at all times, if we are prepared to trust Him and accept His offer of salvation.
