However today finds you, be encouraged and blessed by a forgotten verse in the Old Testament, Nahum chapter 1 verse 7: ‘The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him’. Praise God, every part of that verse is true and is a real verse for today:

• ‘The Lord is good’ – why would we think otherwise of the Lord, the God of
  heaven? The devil will come and cause us to find fault with the Lord, question Him, doubt Him. We have so many of His promises that even when we do not understand, we can still trust Him.
• ‘A stronghold in the day of trouble’ – find in Him today your place of safety,
  your refuge. Today can hold many troubles, but tell Him of them, confide in Him. Turn to His Word. The Lord is strong and He will hold you too.
• ‘And’ … yes, praise the Lord, there is more …
• ‘He knows those who trust in Him’ – many do not know and have to be told; but ‘He knows’. Peter, the well-known disciple told the blessed Lord Jesus, ‘Lord, You know all things’ John chapter 21 verse 17, and the Lord was still the same with Peter as He always was.

So, let us hold firm to our verse for today: ‘The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him’
