“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand” Isaiah chapter 41 verse 10.
What a comfort “Fear not.” Such words can only bring comfort if the one speaking has the ability to overcome the threats and challenges that are faced and causing fear. Of course, the One speaking here introduces Himself “I am your God.”
Is He “your God”? Do you know such a wonderful God? He has made Himself known to us through His Son Jesus Christ. Read John’s Gospel chapter 1 verses 1-14.
“Fear not” is comforting but more follows:
- “be not dismayed, for I am your God.”
- “I will strengthen you”
- “yes, I will help you”
- “I will uphold you with My righteous right hand”
Three times this blessed God says “I will”. Not surprisingly, when Jesus Christ was here He similarly brought peace and calm to many who were troubled:
- to a father whose daughter had died, Luke chapter 8 verse 50.
- to His disciples and followers, Luke chapter 12 verses 7,32.
Finally, when Jesus was going to the cross to secure eternal salvation for us all, He reassured His disciples: “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me” John’s Gospel chapter 14 verse 1.
Happy Monday! Fear not!
