“So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.” Mark’s Gospel chapter 16 verses 19-20
The Gospel of Mark is a very busy record of the Lord Jesus, so many places he visited, so many people he reached. Notice how many times you read the words “and”, “immediately”; go back and read the chapters. The Lord Jesus was always “on the go”!
For our verses today we have the last 2 verses of this Gospel of Mark and we find two great encouragements for us this Monday:
1. The Lord Jesus’ work is complete and He has returned to heaven: “He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.” Thank God for a Saviour who has sat down, His work of salvation complete, once and for all..
2. The Lord Jesus is still at work with His disciples: “And they (the disciples) went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them.” The disciples were not forgotten, the Lord was still with them.
Thank God for a Saviour who is with us today, every Monday and every day.
Happy Monday!
