“Whatever He says to you, do it” John’s Gospel chapter 2 verse 5.
These were words spoken by Mary, the mother of the Lord Jesus to servants at a wedding. Please read the chapter. A crisis had occurred and there was only One person who could help, the Lord Jesus Himself.
For Christians today, these same words speak to us, bringing a challenge and yet a blessing. On reading through the four Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John there are actually few things the Lord asks of us, here are a few you may recall:
“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen” Matthew chapter 28 verses 18-20.
“And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” Likewise, He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you” Luke chapter 22 verses 19-20.
“This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you” John chapter 15 verse 12.
How ready are we today to obey our Lord? “Whatever He says to you, do it”. Will you “do it” today?
When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word, what a glory He sheds on our way;
While we do His good will, He abides with us still, and with all who will trust and obey.
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
But we never can prove the delights of His love, until all on the altar we lay;
For the favour He shows, and the joy He bestows, are for them who will trust and obey.
Happy Monday!
