“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” John’s Gospel chapter 3 verse 16.
What better than to turn today to God’s word, the Bible, and learn about true, lasting and personal love. Yes, God’s love, God’s love for you and me!
- “For God … the eternal, the Creator God no less
- so loved … unprompted, God loved because “God is love” 1 John chapter 4 verse 7
- the world… and that being the world, and us, who had sinned against Him
- that He gave … of all that God could do, He chose to give
- His only begotten Son … so great was God’s love that He gave His all, His only Son, Jesus Christ
- that whoever … this means you, me and everyone else
- believes in Him … we are not required to work, reform, simply believe and trust in Jesus Christ
- should not perish but have everlasting life” … what a gift! Everlasting life! Forgiveness! Salvation!
Later in the Bible we also read “In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins” 1 John chapter 4 verse 10.
What kind of love is this, that gave itself for me?
I am the guilty one, yet I go free.
