“For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures” 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verses 3-4.
What amazing words:
- Christ died
- He was buried
- He rose again
These are 3 undeniable, historical facts; they actually happened and there is proof as evidence.
But look closer:
- Christ died for our sins
What more do you wish to hear today, this is a personal message for YOU today. When Christ dies 2,000 years ago, He thought about YOU!
But look more closely:
- Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures
- and that He was buried
- and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures
The crucifixion, whilst shocking and devastating to His family and friends, it was no accident nor was it a miscarriage of justice: it was planned. It was according to the Scriptures. The Bible, the Scriptures, repeatedly told about it centuries before it happened; Jesus Himself frequently spoke about it and every time He did, He always told that after 3 days He would be raised from the dead.
Praise God, Jesus is alive today, now in heaven a Prince and a Saviour. He died for you; have you never trusted Him and said “thank you”?
I stand amazed in the presence of Jesus the Nazarene,
And wonder how He could love me, a sinner condemned, unclean.
He took my sins and my sorrows, He made them His very own;
He bore the burden to Calvary, and suffered, and died alone.
