Verse For The Day

For the Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hand. He knows your trudging through this great wilderness. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you; you have lacked nothing” Deuteronomy chapter 2 verse 7.

These were some of the last words of Moses to the children of Israel; despite all his frustrations with them Moses wanted to remind them of the faithfulness of God. May we learn from Moses’ complete confidence in God.

  • For the Lord your God – He is a personal God, One that can be known
  • has blessed you in all the work of your hand – in spite of them, God still blessed them
  • He knows your trudging through this great wilderness – they may have trudged, wandered, walked for forty years but God knew every step they took
  • These forty years the Lord your God has been with you; time never limited God’s presence with them; He did not give up on them
  • you have lacked nothing” God provided all

God is still the same in His faithfulness. Even over forty years!

Guide me, O my great Redeemer, pilgrim through this barren land;
I am weak, but you are mighty; hold me with your powerful hand.
Bread of heaven, bread of heaven, feed me now and evermore, feed me now and evermore.

When I tread the verge of Jordan, bid my anxious fears subside.
Death of death, and hell’s Destruction, land me safe on Canaan’s side.
Songs of praises, songs of praises I will ever sing to you, I will ever sing to you.
