“There will be more joy in heaven …” Luke chapter 15 verse 7.
Don’t we all need joy? Some news or experience to gladden our spirits, to help distract from present difficulties. In Luke chapter 15 Jesus told a parable that cause heaven to have great joy!
Heaven is a place of continual joy, a place where is no sadness, no tears, no separation. Revelation chapter 22. So how can there be “more joy in heaven?” Jesus gave the answer:
”I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance”.
The answer: a repentant sinner! The Bible tells us we all need to repent, turn from our sins. Jesus Himself preached it: “And Jesus answered and said to them, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.” Luke chapter 13 verses 1-5.
Paul also preached it: “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord” Acts chapter 3 verse 19.
Through repentance and confession of our sins, we can enjoy heaven’s joy today.
O joy of the justified, joy of the free! I’m washed in that crimson tide opened for me;
In Christ, my Redeemer, rejoicing I stand, and point to the print of the nail in His hand.
Lord Jesus, the crucified, now Thou art mine; though once a lost sinner, yet now I am Thine;
In conscious salvation I sing of His grace Who lifts now upon me the smile of His face.
Happy, Joyful Monday!
