Who Is Willing? (3)

Suggested reading: 2 Corinthians chapter 5 verses 1-8

Paul wrote these words to the Christians in Corinth: ‘So we are always confident, knowing that while we are AT HOME IN THE BODY we are ABSENT FROM THE LORD. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased (WILLING) rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord, 2 Corinthians chapter 5 verses 6-8.

Meditate, prayerfully, on this desire of Paul for a few moments. What would be your PREFERENCE?

  • to be AT HOME IN THE BODY (THIS EARTHLY HOUSE / TENT) & ABSENT FROM THE LORD?
  • to be ABSENT FROM THE BODY & PRESENT WITH THE LORD?
  • to be in OUR FINAL RESURRECTED STATE?

What a hope for the Christian! – to end our first state, in the body, enter the second state of being with the Lord and enter the third state – BODY, SOUL AND SPIRIT REUNITED?

Some day my earthly house will fall, I cannot tell how soon ‘twill be,
But this I know – my ALL IN ALL has now in heaven a place for me.

And I shall see Him face to face, and tell the story saved by grace;
And I shall see Him saved by grace, and tell the story, saved by grace.

Are you WILLING to be present with the Lord?
