Verse For The Day

Where are the nine?”  Luke chapter 17 verse 17.

This was a question Jesus asked after He healed ten lepers and only one of them came back to say “Thank You.” How ungrateful we quickly add, so selfish. But are we any different?

When did you last say “Thank You”? There will always be something in our lives for which we can be thankful. I remember I was told about my maternal grandfather, that he always thanked his wife Maggie every meal time for what she had prepared. Have you said “Thank You” today to those who have fed and cared for you? To those who love and help you? Try it; like a smile, it will make all the difference to you and others.

This incident recorded of Jesus with ten lepers should make us grateful for the wonderful healing that Jesus can bring – not from leprosy but from the plague of sin. When we read the Bible we quickly learn that God has an amazing Masterplan to bring healing, salvation and forgiveness to the whole world even though it would mean the sacrificial death of His only, beloved Son.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” John chapter 3 verses 16-17. Now that is worth many, many “Thank Yous”.

Thank You Lord for saving my soul, thank You Lord for making me whole,
Thank You Lord for giving to me, Thy great salvation so rich and free.

Happy, Thankful Monday!
