Thought For The Day

But God …

How thankful we should be for God’s divine intervention in our lives. When all seemed hopeless and we were helpless God intervened.

We understand the ‘buts’ in our lives, usually turning a pleasant situation into a bad one. For instance, we may work hard in our studies and work ‘but’ we have not passed the exam. We may be generally healthy ‘but’ we have an underlying heart issue. The ‘buts’ in our lives can often bring bad news.

But not so with God: He turns bad news into good news:

For the wages of sin is death,

BUT but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans chapter 6 verse 23.

For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die.

BUT God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” Romans chapter 5 verses 6-8.

And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

BUT God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),  and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Ephesians chapter 2 verses 1-9

Praise God for His divine ‘buts’!

Happy Monday!
