Verse For The Day

“And God remembered Noah” Genesis chapter 8 verse 1.

How remarkable! Not that God remembers, no He is divine and does not suffer from forgetfulness.

No, it is remarkable that God remembered a human, He remembered Noah.

It was at a time when God’s judgment had fallen on this world and amongst it all, God’s thoughts were on one man, Noah, and his family.

Noah was not without sin or fault himself, the Bible records that later on.  But Noah was a man who feared God, in fact:

  • “Noah found grace” or favour “in the eyes of the Lord,” Genesis chapter 6 verses 8.
  • “Noah walked with God,” He was a friend of God, Genesis chapter 6 verse 9.

As God knew Noah, so He knows you. As God remembered Noah, so He remembers you.  As the All-Knowing and All-Seeing God, nothing and no-one is hid from God but all of us matter to Him.

“You have searched me, Lord, and you know me.  You know when I sit and when I rise; You perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; You are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue You, Lord, know it completely. You hem me in behind and before, and You lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain” Psalm 139 verses 1-6.

The love of God is greater far than tongue or pen can ever tell.
It goes beyond the highest star and reaches to the lowest hell.
The guilty pair, bowed down with care, God gave His Son to win;
His erring child He reconciled and pardoned from his sin.

You are known and remembered by God.  Happy Monday!
