Why are these colours so popular today? The traffic light series of colours is being used as a safety guide for travel to and from countries depending on the varying levels of pandemic. Despite every good intention to be helpful and clear, sadly, confusion abounds.

Those on our roads need to understand the same colour coding:

• RED – Stop
• GREEN – Go
• AMBER (or Orange) – it depends! Amber on its own means stop, Amber with Red means go when Green shows.

We need to know the signs to be safe. The same comes when we listen to the message that God has given to us in the Bible. In 66 books, God inspired men and women to write to us so we could understand the past, the present and the future; God’s message to us.

RED – Stop and listen to what the God says: ‘For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God’ Romans chapter 3 verse 23; ‘Be sure your sin will find you out’ Numbers chapter 32 verse 23.

GREEN – Go and accept God’s offer of salvation through Jesus Christ alone: ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved’ Acts chapter 16 verse 31; ‘Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation’ 2 Corinthians chapter 6 verse 2.

AMBER – God has so much more to say as He gives you the gift of eternal life. That is why reading the Bible and prayer are such an essential part of the lives of all Christians.
