During the past weeks the nation has been hanging on to the words of politicians. Most people have trusted them and sought to follow their advice. However, it was not long before ‘the bubble burst’: some of them went against their own advice and, by so doing, lost our trust.

Jesus Christ is a Person in whom you can place your complete trust and He will never disappoint you. He said:

‘He who sent Me is true, and I speak to the world those things which I have heard from Him’, John chapter 8 verse 26.

‘I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly’, John chapter 10 verse 10.

‘I am not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them’, Luke chapter 9 verse 56.

‘Come unto Me . . . and I will give you rest’, Matthew chapter 11 verse 28.

He was true to His word. He died on the cross to save us from the eternal destruction our sin deserved and to give us eternal life. The early Christian preachers were able to announce, with confidence, ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved’, Acts chapter 16 verse 31.
