”Jesus wept” John’s Gospel chapter 11 verse 35.
Only two words for ‘Verse for the Day”? Whatever your Monday looks like today, this shortest verse of the Bible will help carry you through any difficulties, problems and challenges. It will encourage with your joys and blessings. The Lord Jesus always makes the difference:
”Jesus wept” tells me:
- Jesus cares for me
- Jesus knows how I feel
- There is a reason for the delays in my life
- What happens to me will not have to define me
- Jesus holds the key to my sorrow and joy
- Jesus brings hope beyond death
- Jesus will help me now, today
Take time to read John’s Gospel chapter 11. To a sister whose brother died Jesus said some amazing words:
“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world” verses 25-27.
Jesus, the Christ, the Son of God would bring the brother back to life. But still ”Jesus wept”.
He cared for them in their sorrow. He would become the “Man of sorrows” Isaiah chapter 53 verse 3 that “ … through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage” Hebrews chapter 2 verses 14-15. And He still cares for you today!
No one ever cared for me like Jesus; there’s no other Friend so kind as He.
No one else could take the sin and darkness from me;
O how much He cared for me. (Charles Weigle)
Happy Monday!
