“Pray for us”
Have you prayed today? Have you prayed for others today? No Christian is strong enough not to need to pray. Nor is anyone beyond the power of prayer.
Isn’t it humbling when folks tell you “I prayed for you today?” Even more so when you know it is true. The great preacher Paul was never too proud not to ask for prayer:
- “Brethren, pray for us” 1 Thessalonians chapter 5 verse 25.
- “Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith” 2 Thessalonians chapter 3 verses 1-2.
- “Pray for us; for we are confident that we have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honourably” Hebrews chapter 13 verse 18.
Paul did not pray for an easy life, early release from prison nor to be spared from suffering. Once he prayed three times for a certain matter; the ‘thorn in the flesh’ was not removed but the Lord promised Him grace to bear it.
“Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong” 2 Corinthians chapter 12 verses 8-10.
Before you left your room this morning did you think to pray?
In the name of Christ our Saviour did you sooth for loving favour as a shield today?
Oh, how praying rests the weary prayer will change the night to day
So when life seems dark and dreary don’t forget to pray, don’t forget to pray
Take time to pray, now, today!
