‘Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God’ Matthew chapter 5 verse 9, so said Jesus over 2,000 years ago. How we all value the efforts of brave men and women seeking as peacemakers to bring together and reconcile the few as well as the many in dispute and even war with each other.

Peacemakers are needed more than ever today for our nations, our communities, our families – but most of all for each of us personally. For me. When I am at peace with you there is harmony and every reason to build something positive.

When speaking of the coming Messiah, a prophet described Him as ‘the Prince of Peace’ Isaiah chapter 9 verse 6. At His birth it was announced, ‘Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men’ Luke chapter 2 verse 14.

It is said of this same One, the Lord Jesus Christ ‘having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself …’ Colossians chapter 1 verses 20-21.

Have you met the Peacemaker? Can you say ‘Therefore, having been justified by faith, I/we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ’ Romans chapter 5 verse 1? Peace.
