In days gone by, children were taught at school, at home, and in communities at large the principles and very words of the Golden Rule. Today as never before we need to revisit those principles – revisit, review, relearn and rehearse – till they are part of the fabric of our society once more.

What does that Golden Rule say? “Do to others what you would have them do to you.”

The next question would be, “So who says?” Actually, those words are in the Bible and were spoken by Jesus Himself ‘And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise’ Luke chapter 6 verse 31.

What does it mean practically speaking? It tells me to create a culture of respect by treating everyone – family members, friends, teachers, police, colleagues, authorities, employers with the same kindness and respect we would like to receive.
