Behold A White Horse (3)

‘Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse’, Revelation chapter 19 verse 11.

POSTSCRIPT TO CHRIST’S RETURN TO REIGN

  • although Christ’s millennial reign will be idyllic, there will be those born during it, who are rebellious – there will be those are sick. Christ will heal people during this time, who are sick, lame, blind etc.
  • the population explosion during the millennium will mean the birth of millions of people – everyone born during this time will be ‘born in sin’ (sinners) and in need of salvation – ‘the sinner being one hundred years old shall be accursed’, Isaiah 65.20.
  • ‘the everlasting gospel’ will be preached, Rev 14.6, so that sinners can hear it and be saved. It will be the same gospel as now, but with an emphasis on its everlasting nature.
  • neither Satan, nor death, will have been destroyed in the millennium – ‘For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. The last enemy that will be destroyed is death’, 1 Corinthians 15.25-26.
  • Satan will be bound in the bottomless pit during the millennium. After this, he will be released, he will show that people’s hearts have not changed and he will gather them together for battle against God, Christ and Jerusalem, Rev 20.7-8.

PROSPECT OF REWARD FOR BELIEVERS

  • Paul writes: ‘Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing’, 2 Timothy 4.8.

As you meditate on these things today, are you among those who are looking forward, with eager anticipation, to the appearing of the Lord Jesus Christ to reign on the earth for one thousand years, when He will be vindicated in the world that cast Him out and acknowledged to be KING OF KINGS & LORD OF LORDS? Are we looking forward to wearing, with the apostle Paul, a CROWN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS IN HEAVEN?

Jesus shall reign where’er the sun doth his successive journeys run;
His Kingdom stretch from shore to shore, till moons shall wax and wane no more.(I Watts)
