“Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven” Luke chapter 10 verse 20.

Who knows your name?  Do you have more than one name and wish you had more? Have you changed your name?  God knows you whatever your name.

Where is your name written? In the school register? On a plaque or trophy? Even on a book you have written? God knows you wherever your name is or not written.

We place so much importance on names and can find endless lists of names – even in the Bible!  Did you see the list of names yesterday on Hope4Bath?  There will be another list of names next Sunday. God knows all our names and records them.

In our verse for today Jesus told His disciples “Rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”  That’s the best place to have your name written, in God’s home, in heaven.

The Bible tells us that we can have an eternal Home in heaven through knowing Jesus Christ as our Saviour and having our names written in heaven, in God’s special book the Lamb’s Book of Life.

“And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire” Revelation chapter 20 verse 15. 

“But there shall by no means enter it (meaning heaven) anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life” Revelation chapter 21 verse 27. 

Where is your name written? In heaven? See you there?
