Many of us live our lives as if they are never going to end. The Bible gives us frequent reminders as to the brevity of life, e.g. ‘For what is your life? It is even a vapour that appears for a LITTLE TIME and then vanishes away’, James chapter 5 verse 14.

‘We finish our years like a sigh. The days of our lives are seventy years. And if by reason of strength they are eighty years, yet their boast is only labour and sorrow. For it is soon cut off, and we fly away’, Psalm 90 verses 9-10.

‘What man can live and not see death? Can he deliver his life from the power of the grave’, Psalm 89 verse 48.

Have you considered the brevity of your life and what lies beyond it? The Bible says, ‘And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgement, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many’, Hebrews chapter 9 verse 27-28. Jesus said, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has EVERLASTING LIFE’, John chapter 6 verse 47.
